Providing statistics-related consultation and production of high-quality deliverables to clients while building and maintaining effective client relationships
- Planning and documenting project timelines, forecasting resource needs, identifying, and providing alternative analysis options in consultation with the Scientific Director
- Transforming and manipulating data sets into a format that can facilitate analysis and ultimately provide more value to the health researcher
- Assessing data feasibility, collection design, structure, and logic for various health research projects
- Developing statistical and machine learning models and automating processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate data sets
- Utilizing appropriate statistical data analysis, predictive modeling, and simulation tools to develop new predictive tools, including factor analysis, cluster analysis, similarity analysis, partial linear regression, classification techniques, and other analytical methodologies
- Evaluating potential usefulness and validity of new statistical approaches
- Designing visualizations, interactive graphics, dashboards, and other products to communicate key analytical observations and insights, emphasizing clarity and accuracy of methodologies and degree of statistical support for conclusions
- Providing expertise on mathematical, statistical, and machine learning concepts for the broader OHRI research community
- Identifying and evaluating a wide range of existing and emerging methods, models, and algorithms
- Preparing abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts for conferences and submission to peer-reviewed journals
Other activities may include evaluating research protocols submitted to the Research Ethics Board
**Basic Requirements (Education/Experience)**:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline (ex. mathematics, epidemiology, engineering, biostatistics, or a related field)
- High proficiency with data science and statistical analysis environments (e.g., R, Python, SAS, STATA, MATLAB)
- Identify, evaluate, and implement a wide range of statistical and machine learning methods, models, and algorithms to develop more accurate, complete, objective, and anticipatory analyses
- Applied experience in data analysis, including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software and multivariable regression analyses
- Experience in cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing small and large datasets
- Develop documents/reports to support statistical and data analysis,
- Strong communication skills to prepare reports, presentations, briefing materials, and other documentation, as needed
- Proven ability to present highly complex methodological and statistical information to non-technical stakeholders through easy narratives
- Superior organizational, project management, and time-management skills required to coordinate multiple projects with various Investigators simultaneously
- Proven ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience in epidemiologic research, preferably in a clinical context
- Proficiency with data visualization techniques and business intelligence software programs (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) to synthesize complex analytical results into a pictorial or graphical format and identify areas for improvement
- Experience as a consulting methodologist in a collaborative clinical research environment
**Contract Details**:
This is a Full-time, 2-year contract
**Salary**: Min: $31.687/hr. Max: $45.690/hr.
