Design Technician

**Truss-Worthy Construction Systems Inc**., established in 1991, provides trusses and EWP floor systems for residential, commercial, and agricultural buildings. Located in Colborne, our dedicated team works closely with custom builders to deliver exceptional designs and high-quality product across a broad delivery region.

**Role Overview**

As a Design Technician / Estimator, you will be responsible for designing and quoting efficient truss and TJI floor systems that meet or exceed performance standards. You will work closely with our internal team and external clients to maintain the delivery schedule, while managing inventory to ensure stock is available for shipment as needed.

This is an in-office position, and the ability to commute or relocate to the area is essential.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Develop roof truss and EWP floor system layouts.
- Optimize truss and floor systems to ensure performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Generate accurate quotes for customers based on take-off lists and available stock.
- Communicate any non-stock items as they arise to the ordering manager.
- Book orders and address customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Adjust shipping schedule to meet client requests, while maintaining continual communication with the rest of the team to ensure feasibility of deadlines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Knowledge of conventional framing methods and construction industry.
- Experience with Alpine software (iCommand) and/or Weyerhaeuser software (Javelin, Stellar and ForteWeb) an asset but not required.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and visualize in three dimensions.
- Comfortable in a busy office environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the English language in both written and spoken forms.

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
