Working directly with approximately (20) unionized employees on the Manufacturing shift that includes the primary positions of Compounder, Blender, Equipment Cleaner Compounding, Material Handler, and Coater when required secondary positions of Equipment Cleaner Compression, MO1, Set-Up Technician and Tooling Technician totaling (33).

Direct shift start-up of employees in the Compounding area (primary) and Compression area (secondary) as required. Schedule Compounding area work assignments and targets to maximize efficiency, productivity and align with top priorities. Establish the shifts daily productivity output targets in Compounding to meet Daily Production Load targets and record on the Compounding/Coating Changeover Shift Memos. Ensure unionized employees’ work assignments are completed within the planned timetables and meet quality standards and labor cost objectives.

Monitor Operating Equipment Efficiency (OEE) on the shift and evaluate to identify process deficiencies. Develop action strategies to address deficiencies and meet corporate goal objectives. Investigate job order labor or equipment deviations to identify the root cause and develop corrective action steps. Participate in Internal Audits, Customer Audits and Health Canada Audits of the Manufacturing dept. equipment, processes, documentation, record keeping, building structure and employees.

Provide strong leadership and direction to the shifts unionized employees with products, processes, equipment, training, work assignments, and overall operations. Provide status updates to external depts. regarding product status, business operation or department inquiries. Machines and equipment operated in accordance to procedures and handled respectively.

Ensure the Employee Training Schedule of new and in-house unionized employees on the shift receive quality training and have a valid Training Record on file. Coordinate activities such as Maintenance PMs, Calibrations, Validation IQ/OQ studies, Cleaning Validations, Cleaning Verifications and ensure completion within the established timetable.

Address shift issues relating to products, equipment/machines, labor hours, processes, safety, employees work performance and define appropriate corrective action strategies. Inform the shift Supervisor of incidents and request direction as necessary. Ensure all Company Policies, SOPs, GMP, Quality and Safety standards are adhered to and enforced.

Approve the shifts unionized Payroll, Vacation Requests and Personal Leave Days. Perform daily GEMBA WALK/5S Lean Workplace/Safety Observations on the shift and address documented observations. Monitor shifts unionized employee Attendance Records and initiate corrective action steps as required.

Participate in the implementation of dept. projects, corporate & technical changes to meet timelines. Create or review related SOPs, Batch Record Templates and Forms for the Manufacturing dept.

Focus on continuous improvement to identify opportunities for efficiency gains with products, processes, productivity, production floor, and work center labor times. Perform J/O final review and fill out the J/O Labor Variance & J/O Final Review Central Log System tracker. Forward
