**About the Position**

The Director of Health and Safety will report to our VP of Organizational Development and will oversee a small department. This hybrid remote position will spend time in the field, performing inspections and supporting our operational teams, as well as in our GTA office.

This position will provide advisory support on all matters of health and safety, as well as mitigate risk and ensuring compliance with legislation and industry standards. By leading our safety initiatives and advocating a strong safety culture, you will play a critical role ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.

**Job Duties**
- Oversee CCS’ Health and Safety initiatives by ensuring compliance with company and client safety requirements, as well as government legislative regulations
- Proactively conduct hazard analysis, risk assessments, safety inspections and audits to address safety concerns and implement controls and safe work practices
- Provide analysis and recommendations on accidents, injuries or incidents to develop and implement action plans that minimize future occurrences
- Oversee our health and safety training program by advising and educating leaders, as well as developing educational resources for our front line staff
- Manage work related accidents and injuries by overseeing our WSIB Claims Management program
- Create Modified Work Offers for employees requiring physical accommodations, and oversee our Early and Safe Return to Work program
- Participate in audits of health and safety performance and produce regular reports
- Assess company performance against KPIs by synthesizing and analyzing data and making recommendations to drive improvements
- Coordinate Joint Health and Safety Committee and other Health and Safety functions at job sites
- 3+ years’ experience within HSE or related field
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or similar
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal HSE regulations, programs and standards
- JHSC Certification preferred
- Training in Fall Protection/Working at Heights, First-Aid/CPR, Confined Space, Electrical Awareness, Asbestos Awareness are assets
- CSRP designation an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility to travel to client locations
- Strong attention to detail in all areas of work
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft suite; comfortable learning additional software
- Positive, friendly mindset and ability to collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
- G Class Driver’s License
