We are a growing design/build/renovate residential construction company based out of Squamish and we are looking for a Carpenter to join us on **Hardy Island **near Powell River for an exciting project. We are renovating an existing cabin, building a new detached garage and assembling a separate **Backcountry Hut** from March through until October 2023. Site access will be provided by boat and shifts will be four 10-hour days per week.

Blue Water Concepts focuses on large renovations, additions and we specialize in producing well designed buildings with an unwavering focus on quality and efficiency. We design our own structural and architectural drawings ourselves and handle everything from start to finish. BWC started six years ago in Squamish and has grown consistently and comfortably over those years to include an amazing group of individuals in both the office and the field. With regular staff appreciation events, team bike rides and a very positive office and job site culture, staff retention has been a large contributor to our growth and success thus far. Our dedication to both our craft and our clients has allowed us to build a reputation we are proud of. Return clients and referrals make up over 95% of our current work.

The Labourer position plays a key part in the fulfillment of the promises we make to our customers. The company’s brand and customer experience rely on the proper execution of the responsibilities of this role. The areas of accountability are as follows:

- Approximately 40 hours produced on budget and on schedule per week.
- Help maintain an average 9/10 quality score based on the client’s experience and ensure they are continuously exceptionally satisfied.
- Daily updates to all required administrative tracking systems and reporting systems.

**Qualifications**
- Valid BC Driver’s License
- Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset
- Available Monday to Friday from 8 to 4
- No prior experience is necessary but an asset
- Able to lift and physically fit
- Motivated and organized
- Ability to act safely in an active and fast-paced environment

**Key Responsibilities**
- All jobsite labour as required: This can include but is not limited to digging, moving materials, site clean up, assisting Lead Carpenters and Apprentices on various construction tasks, waste removal and dump runs etc.
- Accurately log hours in Time Tracking App daily
- Attend daily meetings with the Site Foreman and Project Manager to gain full understanding of projects and daily and weekly goals.
- Come to the daily meetings prepared and ready to participate. Take notes and work through a sequential list of tasks as set out by superiors.
- Follow instructions from the Site Foreman and Project Manager to complete daily tasks and meet deadlines.
- Use and store materials properly to avoid waste, shortages, damage and eliminate avoidable delays in projects.
- Work as a team and/or individually in an efficient manner to ensure all tasks are being completed within the allotted time frame.
- Assist with material and/or tool pickups or drop offs as required by sites.
- Double check all work with the Lead Carpenters or PMs to proactively prevent deficiencies.
- Immediately address deficiencies to prevent production delays.
- Report any damaged or lost/stolen tools are reported to Site Foreman and/or Service Manager.
- Help set sites up for adverse weather days.
- Maintain site street presence at all times, with a priority on public safety and cleanliness.

**Salary**: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
