**Job Purpose**: The Indigenous Engagement Coordinator will support the BC Parks Foundation’s engagement with BC First Nations by coordinating relationship-building opportunities and supporting the foundation in fulfilling agreements. This role ensures effective communication and partnership development between First Nations communities and both the BC Conservation Fund and Parks Bank (private land acquisition) programs.

**Role Summary**:
The Indigenous Engagement Coordinator will support the Director of Indigenous Initiatives in developing and maintaining relationships with BC First Nations while ensuring effective communication across the BC Conservation Fund and Parks Bank (private land acquisition) programs. This role will coordinate relationship-building opportunities through events, meetings, and other direct engagement activities. They will assist in the development and maintenance of agreements with First Nations, including grant and friendship agreements. Additionally, they will contribute to strategic planning, track Indigenous-led conservation initiatives, develop communications materials, and collaborate with BC Parks Foundation teams to support First Nations' participation in and awareness of initiatives.

**Key Responsibilities**

First Nations Engagement
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a First Nations engagement plan and annual metrics/targets to advance the Foundation’s partnerships with the province’s 204+ First Nations and the goals of the BC Conservation Fund and Parks Bank
- Monitor and assist in communications with First Nations involved in the BC Conservation Fund and Parks Bank (private land acquisition)
- Coordinate meetings with First Nations, including preparing materials, sending invitations, and taking minutes, ensuring clear communication and follow-up
- Plan and execute phone calls or Zoom/Teams meetings to initiate relationships, share information or problem solve
- Prepare culturally appropriate engagement, information sharing, educational and communications materials, including printed and social media content for the BC Conservation Fund and other Foundation initiatives
- Support First Nations awareness and access to additional external resources and opportunities to advance their conservation goals
- Support the creation and execution of friendship agreements and grant agreements with First Nations partners
- Develop and track First Nations engagement and relationship metrics and key performance indicators
- Prepare regular reports and updates on engagement activities, metrics, KPIs, progress on agreements, and project outcomes
- Coordinate with the Foundation's Private Land Acquisition Team to execute a First Nations engagement process with those nations connected to private land purchases

Organizational Support
- Coordinate the BC Parks Foundation’s attendance at events targeting BC First Nations.
- Includes organizing the involvement of First Nations groups hosted by the Foundation, ensuring effective communication in the lead up to events as well as acknowledgement of their contributions
