**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- To research and analyze rates of other utilities and determine the impact of rate changes to a
- variety of customer classes. Provides guidance and information to field staff, government
- agencies, and general public on rates and tariff policies.- Prepares studies, reports and special research projects relating to the analysis and design of

electric rates across a variety of utilities by determining data requirements, method and scope of
- research, utilizing existing or developing computer models and statistical methods to analyze data
- and the impact of proposed changes to a variety of classes of electrical customers and BC Hydro.- Provides technical guidance and advice to BC Hydro office staff on the interpretation and

implementation of rates and tariff terms and conditions; provides information to industry,
- government agencies and the general public on matters related to rate and tariff policies.- Updates, prepares changes, maintains, and distributes the BC Hydro Electric Tariff rate

schedules.- Prepares responses to questions referred from the BCUC or others and reviews and analyzes

submissions by intervenors; composes responses to customers, giving concise explanations of
- the revisions.- Develops and prepares a variety of rate documents to explain to the general public BC Hydro’s

Transmission rates, categories and charges by determining the content and arranging for printing
- and distribution.- Conducts research and develops rate histories requested by internal and external customers/

associations; creates spreadsheets for rate/bill comparison purposes.- Designs and administers surveys and questionnaires used to canvass other utilities, customers,
- etc.; prepares the "Comparison of Monthly Bills for Canadian Utilities"; gathers information related
- to discounts, riders, energy cost adjustments charges, etc. and calculates bills for other applicable
- utility rates; provides information related to BC Hydro rates to other utilities.- Sets up and maintains BC Hydro rates terms and conditions on the intranet and SharePoint.

external BC Hydro website.- Provides support with responding to complaints and inquiries from the public.
- Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the

job.**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in Business Management, Finance, Marketing, Communications, or a related field of

study.- Five (5) years of experience in a role where experience has been gained conducting data

analysis, research, and survey projects.- Completion of Electrical Utility Fundamentals course is considered an asset.
- Requires in-house training on web authoring; or must complete within two (2) months of starting

in the job.
