**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare accurate payroll and handle related government remittances.
- Efficiently manage both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliation and perform necessary general journal entries.
- Assist in interim reporting for banking and bonding purposes, such as work-in-progress reporting.
- Create reports for year-end audits, reviews, and tax returns.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop job cost summary schedules and oversee weekly cost analysis and cash flow management.
- Coordinate and assist in the review of monthly forecasting.
- Responsible for accurate, timely coordination, collection, compilation, and review of financial reports.
- Oversee purchase orders and ensure effective inventory control.
- Manage and file all government remittances, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Provide guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization.
- Undertake special projects as assigned by management.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
- Experience with audits.
- Experience processing weekly payroll for an salaried/hourly/unionized environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self motivated and works well in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Organizational and planning abilities.
- Working knowledge of percentage completion accounting for construction contracts is an asset.
- Experience in the construction or related industry is preferred.
