Position Highlights

The Labour and Employment Consultant will provide strategic and technical advice to management and Human Resources staff

labour and employment law representative in a variety of legal forums on behalf of ICBC, including arbitrations, mediations, the

Human Rights Tribunal hearings. This position will be located out of our CRLC - Burnaby office.

You are a practical and analytical problem-solver whose strong knowledge of labour relations, and labour and employment law,

is backed by 5+ years of experience representing employers at arbitration hearings, mediations and the Human Rights Tribunal.

**Your accountabilities will include**:

- Acting as ICBC’s representative in arbitration hearings, mediations, and at the Human Rights Tribunal as well as advising on

employment related claims and collective bargaining
- Day-to-day you will facilitate labour relations activity with the union, including resolutions of grievances and acting as counsel at

third party hearings, as well as advising on labour & employment related risk to ICBC
- Providing day-to-day technical advice and collaborating with a team of professional HR staff to ensure the Employee Relations

department is supporting key business objectives

Position Requirements
- 5+ years of related work experience in the field of labour and/or employee relations and experience acting as counsel at third

party processes such as mediations, arbitrations, Labour Relations Board hearings, and the Human Right Tribunal
- Experience working in or advising on workplace issues in a unionized environment including demonstrated experience
- Your qualifications include relevant education (i.e., degree in Industrial Relations, Juris Doctor, Labour Relations, etc.) and/or

equivalent experience
