**Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work with patients to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders alongside a Registered Speech Pathologist. You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals (Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Consultants and Physiotherapists) to develop individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient, for a wide range of clients.

**Responsibilities**
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ speech and language abilities with a Registered Professional.
- Help develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide therapy for a range of communication disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders, behaviour, sensory and physical rehabilitation
- Educate patients and their families about disorders and treatment options.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical rehabilitation and behaviour therapy through ongoing professional development.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelors degree in Speech Sciences from an accredited program.
- CHA certification or rehabilitation assistant certification desirable.
- Valid drivers license with access to a car on a daily basis.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to speech and language disorders, occupational therapy terms, Behaviour Intervention and rehabilitation.
- Experience or knowledge in pediatrics is preferred.
- Must have experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Familiarity with acute care settings is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Compassionate approach to patient care with a strong commitment to improving quality of life for individuals with communication challenges.
- Must be dedicated to clients therapeutic plans.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Work Location: In person
