**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
The Supervisor, Erosion Hazard Monitoring is responsible for leading and optimizing the delivery of the erosion hazard monitoring program including but not limited to the inspection, assessment, and mitigation of erosion hazards, and the maintenance of TRCA’s erosion control infrastructure and flood control channels. This position acts as the team lead to maintain standards, enforce compliance with processes and policies, and promote the efficient utilization of internal and external resources.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Coordinates the inspection of hazard sites, existing infrastructure, and other sites identified under projects for regional and local municipalities; escalates critical hazards to the appropriate party for immediate action.
- Oversees the preparation of annual and project-specific reports.
- Manages department administration and database quality assurance and control with a focus on accuracy.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of industry best practices, more efficient financial processes and procedures, and the innovative use of new technology.
- Develops effective partnerships and business relationships, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
- Participates in site visits with monitoring, project management, survey, engineering, construction services, water resources, and planning ecology staff to verify priorities and help develop the preliminary scope of work and budget.
- Prepares forecast tables, preliminary budgets, and other documents as required for the Associate Director to ensure the required information is available for budget submissions.
- Leads a team of staff and ensures that team members understand expectations; communicates schedule and tasks and discusses priorities of items.
- Communicates with team members regularly to assess workload and status of activities, amends work and reassigns staff as needed to direct workflow and accommodate for any situational circumstances.
- Supports onboarding and provides on-the-job training and support as needed for individuals; also identifies any gaps in or potential improvement areas for training, development, process, resources, or procedures.
- Identifies area of improvement or concern that should be addressed and collaborates with others to develop a plan that maximizes the value of a project; considering alignment with other areas, availability of resources and ability to leverage other projects/this project for other future projects.
- Obtains approvals for the project scope and then ensures that project staff and resources are able to/can deliver the project addressing any training or resource gap; and develops a project plan timeline.
- Monitors budget and timeline and develops strategies to mitigate any variances to the project plan.
- Within authority level and project scope, approves expenditures, purchases, and contracts. Where required, negotiates contracts/services with support of others to ensure satisfactory terms for TRCA.

**What will you need to succeed**:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Environmental Protection Technology or a related field of study.
- Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario or Certified Engineering Technologist or Certified Engineering Technician with Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.

Experience
- 4+ years of progressive experience in field data collection, asset manager or an environmentally related field.
- 1+ years of progressive managerial, supervisory or project management experience.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
- Advanced mathematical abilities (e.g., ratios, rates, percentages, basic geometry).
- Expertise in designing data visualization and enabling others to quickly grasp complex data concepts.
- Influences decisions by presenting technical information and evidence in an appealing and easy to understand manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate project status
