Job Summary:
**Reporting to the Chief Dispatcher, and responsible to the Manager, Technical SOC, the Supervisor, Flight Dispatcher Standards and Training is responsible for the delivery of all technical training to Flight Dispatchers and team members within the System Operations Control Centre (SOCC). The Supervisor, Flight Dispatch Standards and Training assists the Chief Dispatcher with the maintenance and development of SOCC software systems, Flight Dispatcher training records, and to ensure compliance with the training requirements and standards set out in the Canadian Aviation Regulations.**: Duties & Responsibilities:

- Determine, develop, and deliver Porter Airlines’ regulatory Flight Dispatch training. This includes, but not limited to;
- Initial Groundschool
- Recurrent Groundschool
- Winter Operations
- New Sector
- New Aeroplane Type
- Plan and schedule all technical and regulatory training requirements of the System Operations Control Centre and maintain the accurate training records
- Develop lesson plans and content including the administration of Porter’s Learning Management System
- Monitor the progress of Flight Dispatchers in Training and make recommendations for completion of Dispatch Competency Checks (DCC) when the required proficiency has been demonstrated
- Provide on-the-job instruction and evaluate Flight Dispatcher performance of standards, procedures, flight watch and operational control and develop remedial action where required
- Adept in the maintenance, administration and production of the System Operations Control internal and external software
- Support in creation, issuance, and organization of Dispatch Bulletins and Porter’s Flight Dispatch Manual
- Carry out the duties and maintain the qualifications required of a Flight Dispatcher and Approved Check Dispatcher (ACD)
- Expert in Porter Emergency Response and SOCC Emergency Relocation
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
- Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Dispatcher

Qualifications:

- Type A Transport Canada Qualified Dispatcher
- Minimum of two (2) years working in a Dispatch environment
- Restricted Radio Telephone Operators Certificate
- Working knowledge of CARs 705
- Turbo jet experience an asset
