The Team Leader is responsible for high-quality program delivery and ensuring curriculum integration and development across all sites that supports a team of Newcomer Youth Specialists. This includes supervising staff and volunteers, overseeing targets and database management and assisting in program enhancements as it relates to youth survey results. The Team Leader is critical in ensuring Newcomer Youth Specialists have the tools they need to deliver impactful activities as it relates to coaching staff on effective program planning, ensuring targets and outreach goals are being met and identifying financial needs to facilitate.

**In this role, you will**:

- Work together with the Manager in recruiting and hiring; lead the team by training, coaching, motivating, monitoring performance and appraising staff to achieve program objectives
- Support program staff in the development of outreach goals, program delivery curriculum as it relates to monthly calendars and tools to measure success of outcomes
- Support Manager in identifying programming partnerships, professional development opportunities for youth workers that are relevant and addressing program needs
- Work closely with Newcomer Youth Advisors on development of site-specific budgets while forecasting financial needs
- Provide oversight and leadership to NYLD committees such as Family Day, Culture Day, Mentorship, etc.
- Support Program Director and Program Manager on implementation of Pathways to Education and Legal Services programming
- Serve as back up for staff on vacation and offer support to delivery of services in schools and the community
- Liaise with YMCA's Marketing and Communications teams to ensure compliance of association guidelines
- Oversee the TDSB partnership and ensure compliance with membership
- Monitor immigration and newcomer trends, online service delivery tools and programs to inform content development and improvement
- Act as a member of the senior Immigrant Services management team to ensure settlement and integration programs achieve goals and contribute to the overall outcomes and success of the YMCA
- Understand and integrate the value of philanthropy and volunteerism and impart this knowledge and belief upon staff, volunteers and members
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of all children, youth, and vulnerable people in YMCA programs including understanding legal and moral obligations related to reporting suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services

**You bring**:

- University Degree or Community College Diploma in related field or equivalent training/work experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or program coordination experience including staff supervision, budget management, program monitoring, evaluation and reporting
- Demonstrated knowledge of settlement and immigration barriers, trends, resources and services
- Experience in successful implementation of new community programs
- Experience using software such as Salesforce, Raisers Edge and mYwork for data management and HR purposes
- Experience with social media (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills; strong written communication skills; ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
- Ability to communicate in another language as an asset
- Flexibility regarding work location and hours, including evenings and Saturdays
- Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
