**Description**

The Coordinator supports and directs the Pastor and the Parish Life Coordinator (PLC) in providing religious education and faith development for children in grades 1-6 in an organized and efficient manner. In addition, the Coordinator supports parents as they share their faith with their children by providing opportunities for parents to learn more and deepen their faith. Finally, the Coordinator expected to recruit, train, and support teachers, assistants and other volunteers, thereby creating a spirit of collaboration with a shared vision.

The Coordinator is accountable to the Pastor and PLC and expected to work closely with the Religious Education Committee.

**Essential Qualification and Education Requirements**
- Completed a post-secondary University Degree in Religious Education or equivalent education
- Minimum two years experience in Children/Youth leadership
- Fully initiated into the Catholic faith and a desire to share Jesus’ teaching with children and their families

**(alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered)**
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification and CPR/First Aid Certification would be an asset or willing to obtain
- Confident, self-motivated, Vision minded, able to work with other staff, volunteers or independently
- Ability to work well within a cooperative team environment and follow the direction of the immediate supervisor
- Proficiency with Social Media and Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- An ability to communicate to, motivate, train, and empower youth and youth ministry volunteers
- Possess a passion for the spiritual development and well-being of young people, and a love for the Church
- Attends Mass at the HAP~ SMB’s Faith Community and all related activities/events as it pertains to the position
- Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the Vision Statement of Holy Apostles Parish and its implication as related to position responsibilities
- Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks that are satisfactory to Holy Apostles Parish and to provide a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening.

**EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT**

20 hours per week
