Supports for Community Living Worker (SCL). BIRS supports individuals and their families affected by brain injuries. Since 1992, we have customized our support for each individual with their physical and cognitive skills. We promote independence, self-esteem, self-awareness, and social interaction.
**About the Position**
The Supports for Community Living Worker (SCLW) is responsible for supporting individuals with cognitive and/or physical disabilities. This is a **fulltime position, working 7.5 hours daily and 37.5 hours a week**. Disability Services Workers are responsible for maintaining and promoting the wellbeing, uniqueness, and independence of each individual so that they can achieve their outcomes and goals. A CDSWI will assist individuals with implementation of person-centered plans, promote continuous learning and assist with skills development that result in increased independence, self-awareness, self-advocacy, socialization, and community inclusion.

**Job Requirements**:
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- First Aid - Level C/CPR certificate
- Basic computer literacy that meets the requirements of the specific role and agency/service
- Minimum 0 to 6 months related experience
- Clean criminal record with vulnerable sector or one that is acceptable to the Executive Director
- A positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and act on their life choices and seek active participation in the community
- An understanding of the opportunities and options available to persons with disabilities, mindful of cultural and ethnic sensitivity
- Relevant knowledge and ability to model and support the development of basic living, personal and social skills
- Ability to work well as a team, and independently
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $18.75-$23.80 per hour
