The City of Brooks is currently looking for one (1) File Clerk to perform records management duties, primarily scanning, uploading, saving, and cataloguing files at City Hall. As required, this position will provide general assistance to the Community Development, Administration, Finance, Planning, and Development departments.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- General office work such as scanning, records management, data entry, filing, photocopying, and other duties as assigned;
- Scanning and uploading documents into storage systems and effectively saving and cataloguing files as directed;
- Assisting staff members with finding documentation to support their work
- Provide administrative support for departments at Brooks City Hall as requested;
- Protect confidential information and share only when legally obligated; and
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation;
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures;
- Knowledge of various computerized equipment, including an understanding of personal computers and related office software such as Microsoft Office Suite;
- Office experience would be an asset, and/or enrollment/completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school or college.
- Verbal and written communication skills and comfort in working with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds;
- Ability to take initiative to meet deadlines;
- Must exercise attention to detail;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding department and municipal matters; and
- Subject to a criminal records check.

**Compensation & Benefits**:
The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary for this position. The regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The successful applicant will also receive a free family membership to the JBS Canada Centre during the term of employment.

A clean criminal records check and driver abstract will be required before an offer of employment is presented to the successful applicant.
