**Position Summary**:
The **Reporting Analyst** works with a variety of data sources to create reports and dashboards, and to perform required data analysis. In this role you will utilize a combination of analytical, reporting, and data visualization tools to present data and analytic findings in a meaningful way to support the development and evaluation of strategies, policies, and procedures in Health Benefits. The role also analyzes and documents business processes and workflows to ensure that data is interpreted correctly.

**Responsibilities**:

- Creates reports and dashboards in Excel, Tableau and other tools delivering meaningful data in a usable and user friendly manner
- Extracts data from the data warehouse; ensures data management, including several complex activities around data organization, database administration & maintenance, data analysis, data monitoring, and assessing data for quality.
- Inspects and modifies data to make it usable for periodic and/or ad hoc reports and analysis accessible to external and internal stakeholders.
- Writes and executes SQL scripts to fulfill data management requirements from FNHA’s data warehouse
- Analyzes data to identify trends, exceptions, and areas for further investigation
- Presents data and findings in a variety of means, including but not limited to, charts, graphs, interactive dashboards, and written reports
- Works with internal and external partners for data identification, data analysis, data reporting and to develop workflow and process maps Collaborates with other analysts to support departmental priorities and initiatives
- Participates in the development of action plans to ensure assigned tasks are completed within agreed timelines
- Participates on internal, bilateral and/or tripartite projects / initiatives

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- University degree or Diploma in Statistics, Computer Science, or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

**Experience**
- Recent and relevant experience in data analysis, manipulation and interpretation, preferably in the health sector (usually associated with 4-6 years of experience)
- Experience analyzing financial data
- Professional experience working with any three of the following: Tableau, SQL, R, Alteryx, SPSS, and SAS
- Mastery in MS Excel; able to perform pivot tables, pivot charts, and advanced functions in MS Excel
- Experience working with office productivity software (Microsoft Office suite of products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Access)

**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:
**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of First Nations communities in BC, including culture, political structures and environment is an asset
- Knowledge of the BC health care system is an asset
- Knowledge of First Nations health: current issues and initiatives, is an asset
- Knowledge of the First Nations Health Benefit Program is an asset

**Competencies**
- Strong technical skills to confidently query data from the data warehouse
- Work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a wellness based organizational environment
- Develop dynamic working partnerships with multiple stakeholders with a variety of interests and priorities
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including sensitivity in all communications with clients
- Write reports which present findings in a manner which is easily understandable by a wide audience of end users
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
