Payroll Clerk

**Full Job Description**
Do you possess a high level of reliability, precision, and attention to detail? We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team and help ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for supporting the payroll department by ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, and resolving payroll-related issues.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in processing payroll for all employees, including collecting and verifying timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial labour laws
- Prepare and process payroll related reports, including Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, and income tax deductions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, tax forms, and direct deposit details
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, employment standards, and company policies
- Prepare and file necessary payroll related reports with government agencies
- Assist with the preparation of year-end tax documents, such as T4 slips
- Resolve payroll-related discrepancies and issues in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external agencies as needed
- Collaborate with the Human Resources and accounting departments to ensure accurate and consistent payroll processing
**Requirements and Skills**
- Diploma in payroll/accounting, college/university in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of one to two years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role
- Proficiency in payroll software, Microsoft Suite and Excel. Knowledge of Fleet Manager is preferred.
- Strong attention to details and accuracy in all tasks
- Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
**Hours of Work**
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Occasional weekend availability
