**Job Title: Electrical Purchaser**

**Location: Chatham, ON**

**Position Summary**
The Electrical Purchaser manages and coordinates the activities engaged in purchasing electrical materials such as conduit, wire, panels, electrical components, and misc. supplies. The Electrical Purchaser leads sourcing activity to identify and establish relationships with suppliers and is responsible for the implementation of all policies, practices, and procedures pertaining to the purchasing function. The Electrical Purchaser leads the issuance of all purchase orders, verifies material specifications, prices, terms, and track delivery of all components ordered and updates the requestor as needed.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Identifies the most cost and service effective sources for all electrical components
- Develops collaborative relationships with key suppliers to optimize pricing and lead times
- Collaborates with all field staff to keep them updated on delivery
- Supervises, prepares, and issues purchase orders insuring the inclusion of required specifications, prices, terms and conditions, and other relevant purchasing information
- Informs field staff of required lead times, availability, and status of ordered components and consumables
- Ensures company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all Purchasing department functions

**Minimum Qualifications**
- 4+ years purchasing in electrical components
- Experience maintaining a delivery schedule and tracking component delivery
- Prior basic knowledge of electrical components, trade names and vendors
- Microsoft Excel abilities
