Benefits Specialist

The Benefits Specialist in the Business Development department** **is responsible for developing tailored solutions for prospects and strategic clients in collaboration with the Business Development and Benefits teams. These solutions take many forms ranging from critical evaluation of the current programs and providers in place, support through changes, and customized communications to support critical employee messages. In addition to developing solutions for our clients and prospects, this position will also support the Business Development team through the creation of documents that support the sales cycle and describe the value our team can bring based on the unique needs of each prospect.
** What you will do**:
- Prepare and/or peer review employee communications
- Create, document, update responses for Request for Proposal (RFP) for consulting services
- Responsible for consistency and correct use of brand identity and voice according to brand guidelines both internally and externally
- Development of marketing pieces to assist with the sales process
- Prepare specifications for marketing
- Coordinate carrier finalist presentations.
- Manage the reviewing, processing and preparing of new business implementation including smooth transition of benefits to new carriers and on-going service team, ensuring any client risk and exposure is mitigated (i.e. plan mapping, member coverage, communication)
- Organize and draft proposals (RFPs) for review with Consultant
- Prepare and/or peer review benefit summaries, employee survey questionnaire and presentations.
- Assist on specific projects, initiatives and research
- Review contract, booklet and collective agreement differences and identify risk exposure
- Assist with the preparation of all financial aspects including quote comparisons, amendment pricing and financial reporting
- Perform commission reconciliations and analysis
- Assist with the analysis of financial and/or plan design benchmarking and preparation of reports/presentations. Facilitate employee presentations for clients
**What you will bring**:
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in the Group Benefits industry an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Suite (Creative Cloud)
- Proficiency with social media and willingness to work with emerging digital tools
- A flair for presentation design and creativity is a requirement
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment, ethics and integrity
- Highly driven and self-motivated with superior client service attitude
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills;
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- LLQP license, GBA, CEBS would be an asset (or working towards)
