Thurber has an exciting opportunity for an **Environmental Technician** to join our team in **Oakville, Ontario**.

Thurber is a specialized consulting firm with a focus on geotechnical engineering. Our project work includes transportation, large and small infrastructure, natural hazards, development and more. We undertake challenging assignments that can include steep terrain, deep foundations, compressible soils, landslides, contamination, or other complications.

As our Environmental Technician, you will work on varied projects and develop your skills with guidance and mentorship from our senior team.

**Responsibilities**
- Conducting environmental field drilling and site investigation programs;
- Installation of groundwater wells including in-situ remediation wells and conducting in-situ hydraulic conductivity testing;
- Conducting groundwater monitoring and sampling programs;
- Monitoring and troubleshooting groundwater remediation systems
- Providing remedial construction inspection and quality control / assurance testing for various environmental projects; and,
- Liaising with project engineers/scientists and site representatives.

**Qualifications and Assets**
- Environmental or Biological Sciences Technology Diploma;
- Drilling experience with auger rigs, hollow-stem, rotary, coring;
- 1-2 years consulting experience (preferred); exposure to upstream oil and gas sites would be an asset.
- Class G Drivers license is required; and,
- Clean 3 Year Driver’s Abstract and an Insurance Claims Experience Letter are required.
