**Job Details**

**Position Title**:Coordinator, Residence Life

**Status**:Full-time contract, for 1 year with the possibility of renewal

**Hours per Week**:44 hours

**Faculty/Department**:Student Success and Engagement

**Campus/Location**:North Campus

**Total Compensation**: Min $60,457.00 This includes salary, Meal Plan and Living Accommodation allowances & EAP, and vacation entitlements to make up the total compensation

**What You Will Do**:
The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) helps to plan, implement and evaluate all Residence Life major programs and activities for students, to ensure that the strategic and operational objectives of the Residence Life program are achieved. This includes, but is not limited to: oversight of the Transition Support Model program, student conduct program, Residence Life Staff (RLS) recruitment, training, etc. The RLC supervises a student-staff team (8-10 Resident Assistant’s, 1 Residence Community Assistant, etc.) and works to facilitate and support a safe, secure and quality living experience for all students in Residence. This position lives in residence and takes part in a 24/7 on call rotation with other Residence Life Coordinators. A meal plan, vacation, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) are also part of the compensation package.

**What You Bring to the Role**

**Qualifications**:

- Well-developed and strong interpersonal skills (effective communication, active listening skills, etc.).
- Flexible and creative thinking, and ability to adapt approach based on scenarios that could change in the moment.
- Sound knowledge of administrative practices and procedures, preferably in an educational setting - including an understanding of student self-governance (i.e., Residents’ Council).
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative to solve problems on a daily basis.

Education
- Undergraduate Degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant discipline (Social Work, Community Studies, Leadership, Human Resources, Education, etc.).

Experience
- 1-3 years related experience working in a residence setting at a post-secondary institution with students.
- Supervisory-related experience and experience developing programs and activities is an asset.

Certifications
- Police check required to be completed
- ASIST, First Aid/CPR, and/or Narcan/Naloxone training preferred (will be provided if not already obtained)
- Training and certifications such as ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, Non-crisis intervention, student conduct administration training, would be an asset.
