**JOB SUMMARY**:
THE PARK Restaurant is hiring a line cook for our small but busy kitchen.

We are looking for an energetic, hardworking individual with superior attention to detail, a consistently positive demeanor, and experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Our kitchen offers a respectful, clean, and professional work environment with continuous growth opportunities.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and effectively. Keep track of kitchen inventory and promote food safety. Maintain cleanliness and order, serve as a liaison officer between the kitchen and Servers, and ensure their workplace is compliant with local safety standards. Other duties and responsibilities that Cooks need to excel at include:

- Taking orders from the wait staff and preparing food according to customer preference
- Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and order
- Monitoring and managing cooking tools and ingredients
- Adjusting to accommodate clients with specific diet and health concerns.
- Setting up the workstation
- Assist with opening or closing the kitchen

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Excellent line and prep skills
- A minimum of 1 year line cooking experience
- Must be available to work mornings and evenings, including weekends.
- A team mentality and a positive, results-driven attitude
- Ability to follow directions and to comply with given standards, as well as proven experience in a busy kitchen
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada. No sponsorship is available

Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Comox, BC V9M 3Z2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
