**Reporting Manager**: VP of Finance

**Location**: 688 Josephine Street, Wingham, ON

**Position Summary**:
Responsible for the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements and ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting needs.

Lead the Financial Reporting team in driving continuous improvement and implementation of “lean” initiatives while providing information to support company strategy, using quantitative insights to drive better decision-making throughout the organization.

**Position Qualifications**:

- Education & Knowledge_
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- CPA designation - Required or completed in 1-2 years
- Skills_
- Demonstrated leadership skills including facilitating, coaching and training
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs such as MS Office
- Excellent proficiency in financial modeling and Excel
- Experience_
- 7+ years experience in Accounting
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting, including responsibility for payroll and benefits
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Communication_
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills

**Responsibilities**:
**LEADERSHIP**
- Provides leadership to the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll team, hiring employees, communicating objectives, assigning tasks and providing feedback and direction on objectives and requirements.
- Manages financial reporting systems, ensuring compliance with legislation, established practices and corporate policies.
- Provides communication, training and leadership to plant personnel on financial reports, payroll and benefits.

**FINANCIAL REPORTING & CONTROLS**
- Prepares monthly financial statements and all necessary reports for month-end reporting, including schedules, supporting analyses and narrative.
- Responsible to drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and transactional processes to ensure timely financial reporting to senior management.
- Works with Operations Leaders to react to and reduce variance reporting.
- Analyse plant financial performance monthly to identify cost reduction opportunities, evaluate cost reduction initiatives and make recommendations.
- Review and approve all journal entries, payment releases with supporting documentation and account reconciliations.
- Assist with annual operating budget preparation by providing information and/or analyses, as requested.
- Facilitate the preparation of financial information for operations.
- Continuously reviews the financial reporting needs of internal and external customers.
- Provide support to satisfy year-end audit requirements and implement recommendations of external auditors.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place to safeguard company assets including being the Finance lead for physical inventory counts.
- Leads the development, implementation and maintenance of Finance policies & procedures.
- Administers the retention of financial records.
- Other duties as assigned

**OTHER**
- Actively participate in cross-functional initiatives and Finance projects to advance the business, including assuming various roles within problem solving/continuous improvement teams and reporting on expense and external indicators.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities for deliverables and processes, supporting the business’ performance objectives.
- Complies with company policies and procedures.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management
