**Job Summary**:
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Work with business units to advise and educate about GIS and Data capabilities.
- Work with business units to identify, design and implement GIS and Data solutions.
- Work with business units and other ITS and GIS staff to design and implement streamlined business processes and to optimize corporate geospatial and data workflows.
- Develop GIS and Data related policies, standards, procedures and processes.
- Focus on current projects and support heavily integrated GIS and Data functions in the maintenance of current enterprise-wide systems.
- Assist in configuring the technical side of our Enterprise GIS system.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data standards and processes to support the effective maintenance of corporate GIS and other datasets.
- Administer GIS-related solutions, data and analysis projects.
- Responsible for conducting detailed spatial and data analytics.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum five years experience related to the duties listed above, normally acquired through the completion of a university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Geography, Geosciences, GIS Environmental Management or a related discipline
- Experience in business analysis, business process re-engineering and managing IT and GIS projects.
- Experience working with geospatial ETL tools to transform and translate data (e.g. FME)
- Knowledge of security best practices when administering Enterprise GIS environments
- Experience working with Dashboard and Reporting tools (Esri Dashboards, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Familiar with dimensional modelling, data warehouse and business intelligence methodologies and frameworks.
- Knowledge and proficiency in GIS and Data related scripting languages such as Python, SQL, Arcade, ArcPy, as well as workflow tools such as Model Builder.
- The ability to adapt to new technologies and be current in industry trends and outlooks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders and external vendors.
- Ability to manage a workload where priorities are constantly changing and work in an environment with a high rate of technological change.
- Knowledge of land information requirements, field data collection systems and relevant municipal processes and policies.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Access) and Microsoft Project Management software.
- A firm understanding of database, networking and system administration concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent customer and client support skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s licence with a good driving record, may require the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes.
