This position requires a working knowledge of Indigenous student issues and services offered by FNHL and other departments at UBC.

This position may require working outside of normal hours in support of FNHL events on an infrequent basis.

The communications aspect of this role sees the incumbent providing general support to FNHL's RCO as it pertains to the Unit's internal and external communications activities. Other duties include, but are not limited to, posting events to the UBC Calendar, reporting analytics, producing branded promotional materials, identifying potential stories, contributing draft content for articles, providing general editorial support, and responding to internal and external requests for information and direction.

The research aspect of this role sees the incumbent providing general support to the RCO as it pertains to the Unit's involvement in monitoring and reporting on the University's implementation of the Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP). Duties include, but are not limited to, organizing meetings and taking notes, communicating with Faculty personnel, organizing Faculty and Unit implementation reports, extracting and tabulating data, and supporting the creation, evaluation and presentation of FNHL surveys.

The consequence of an error in this area could be very serious for the Unit and the University, as it concerns their public image, profile and reputation on a local, provincial, national and international level.
