Sun Life is embarking on a multi-year transformation to a Digital Enterprise. We are moving to a new way of working, bringing Business, Digital Technology and Operations closer together in delivering Client value.
**This Agile Coach role would be ideal for**:
- ** A current Agile Coach or Senior Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead **who can clearly demonstrate Agile coaching skills and competencies with real-world work experience in this capacity** - not just theory, courses, or an academic certification.**:
- ** An Agile Coach or Senior Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead with 1 to 2+ years of experience in a scaled Agile enterprise size environment where they have had to enable / coach squads, platforms and leadership) who would like to make a greater impact through influence, contributing to the coaching strategy and strong execution skills**:
- An Agile Coach who has lead Journey/Platforms and squads through mobilizations towards scaled agile practices and behaviours.
- ** An Agile Coach who has experience working with multiple squads/squads and can juggle the demanding role of developing new-to-agile practitioners and supporting their growth**:
- ** an Agile Coach with both Scrum and Kanban experience**:
- ** A strong communicator who possesses effective communication and presentation skills**
With deep hands-on experience in Scrum, Kanban and/or Scaled Agile methodologies, the individual will help mobilize and develop Agile squads/squads and support the organizational change necessary for sustained Agile success. They are an active member of the Agile community helping to grow a sustaining, thriving Agile community in the organization.
**The Coach is an expert in Agile Practices**. They are responsible for providing coaching, training, mentoring, impediment management, and leadership to facilitate collaboration, development consistency, and value delivery across multiple squads and departments. They will also train squads to resolve impediments and shift mindset and behaviors. They are expert facilitators and know how to shift between Coaching and Training stances. They will act as role models by demonstrating the right mindset including a test and learn attitude, a bias for action, a passion to innovate and a willingness to learn.
**What will you do?**
- Act as an Agile champion for Sun Life’s Digital Enterprise and squads across the organization.
- Help stand up new Agile squads and provide consulting and coaching to these squads to support their development and ongoing improvements to become self-organizing, self-managing and highly functional. This includes supporting the development of Platform leaders, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and squads
- Facilitate an environment of continuous improvement and adoption of agile practices
- Provide coaching on how to prioritize and manage items in the backlog (via Platform Kanban boards) and coach squads on how to maintain their backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead
- Promote the Agile culture and mindset throughout the organization. This includes leading squads and influencing leaders and partners as they learn and adopt Agile practices by supporting them through coaching, mentoring, facilitating, and teaching
- Contribute to the developing Agile Community through workshops, seminars, CoP's, etc...
- Promote the use of DevOps technical practices and tools
- Coordinate with other squads and coaches, facilitate preparation for Quarterly Increment Planning, and support the Agile Release Train estimates for larger features and capabilities
- Provide the educational support to the organization on Agile principles and Scrum/ Kanban practices or any additional Agile techniques to increase the Company-wide execution, innovation and overall maturity
- Make recommendations to the Lead Coach and contribute to the development and execution of the overall coaching strategy
- Provide insight and story telling using platform/squad metrics and measurements to articulate progress
**What do you need to succeed?**
- You are a disciplined expert in Agile practices (Scrum, SAFe, and/or Kanban)
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a Business discipline is preferred
- Preferred Agile Certifications - SAFe, PMI-ACP, PMI-DAC, ICC-ACC, ICP-CAT, ICP-ENT, PSM ,CSM, CSPO or other Agile certification
- 1-2+ years of coaching experience in Agile delivery / transformation / training / coaching.
