Be our next **Building Science Technician/Professional**

EXP is currently looking for an **Building Science Technician/Professional **to join our Team in the Ottawa office. The successful applicant will provide appropriate technical services to Project Managers for those projects to which they have been assigned.

**Your Challenge**

The incumbent will perform the field review of building envelope components during building construction as well as reviewing existing building conditions. The incumbent will also likely get involved in building envelope testing and the review of restoration projects including cladding rehabilitation, window or roof replacement and parking garage or balcony restoration. Projects may also include building condition assessments such as Reserve Fund Studies.

**The Skills, Knowledge, and Ability We Seek**
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in Building Science
- Diploma in a related field of study such as Building Science or Civil Engineering
- Experience with roofing, waterproofing, windows, walls and other building envelope inspections is an asset
- Experience with building condition reviews and reserve fund study analysis is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- A motivated, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail
- A valid driver’s license with own vehicle and travel throughout Southwestern Ontario is required
- Be willing to work at heights from elevated platforms
- Knowledge of building evaluation, design, and construction
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
