Calgary, Canada Alberta Health Services Full time

**Your Opportunity**:
Essential to the community, EMS facilities are strategically located and properly maintained to help ensure the provision of timely emergency care. And that’s where you come in. Alberta Health Services is currently seeking a Manager, EMS Facilities, and Infrastructure to ensure that EMS facilities are in place and equipped as required. In this role, you’ll oversee the operation of 185 EMS facilities, manage and track inventory, and ensure communications equipment is up-to-date and fully operational. Much like a fire station, EMS facilities must securely house emergency vehicles, safely store medications in secure and temperature-controlled environments and offer kitchen and rest areas for employees on shift. As this is a provincial position, the physical work location is negotiable within the province. Calgary and Edmonton house the majority of facilities and colleges and offer a cosmopolitan lifestyle, professional sports teams, post-secondary institutions, and world-class healthcare facilities. Living and working in the North, Central, and South Zone each offers bustling cities, charming small towns, diverse landscapes, and an excellent quality of life. Choose your ideal setting for work - and life. AHS is Canada’s first and largest province-wide, fully integrated health system, and has been named among Canada’s Top 100 Employers, Alberta’s Top 75 Employers and a top employer for young people and diversity. AHS is a supportive employer, with endless opportunities for professional development and comprehensive benefits, including health and dental. You’ll feel good knowing you help ensure EMS resources are in place to perform their life-saving work.

**Description**:
Reporting to the Director, EMS Logistics and Support, the Manager, EMS Facilities, and Infrastructure will be responsible and accountable for three distinct areas of business: overseeing day-to-day operations of EMS facilities; EMS Communications equipment; and overseeing the electronic Patient Care Report team. The largest component of this role is providing short
- and long-term strategic planning and operational oversight of 185 EMS operational facilities. This includes performing regular scheduled site visits, and coordinating routine and emergency repairs and maintenance, as well as the EMS-specific IT infrastructure requirements that fall outside AHS IT’s scope of responsibility. You will create, review and update EMS Facility and Infrastructure policies and procedures, performing audits and making amendments as required. You will also provide guidance and EMS liaisons to internal and external stakeholders including AHS Capital Management, Infection Prevention and Control, Workplace Health and Safety, and a variety of tradespersons, contractors, and landlords or their representatives. As the Manager, Facilities, and infrastructure, you will oversee the EMS Communications Equipment portfolio. This includes managing and tracking the inventory, distribution, maintenance, and procurement of all mobile communications equipment required by Clinical Operations staff to effectively communicate with EMS dispatch centres and with one another. The third major responsibility of this position is overseeing the electronic Patient Care Report (ePCR) team. The ePCR team extracts billing information from the ePCR itself and prepares the information for further processing by the AHS Finance Accounts Receivable department. In addition, the ePCR team also act as a liaison between AHS, policing agencies, and law firms.
