**Production Supervisor**

**Your Responsibilities**
- Insist on and create a safe and healthy work environment for all employees in their sector.
- Help set OSH priorities for their sector in line with corporate objectives and follow up on them.
- Personally commit and display strong leadership in health and safety.
- Accept the full responsibility that comes with his position in line with Cascades’ OSH requirements.
- Ensure compliance with standardized manufacturing practices and procedures to deliver on the sector’s objectives.
- Make sure operational efficiency targets are met.
- Support the sector’s continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build a team of competent and dedicated people whose skills complement one another.
- Continue the operational strategy in line with their sector’s business strategy.
- Manage and engage staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy
- Effectively manage human and material resources to ensure sound financial performance and achievement of manufacturing efficiency targets
- Drive change initiative and implement process improvements as part of a multi-functional team
- Lead safety efforts for employees by identifying high-risk situations, conducting safety meetings and coordinating worker safety activities
- Optimize efficiencies and drive efforts to reduce waste and downtime and increase production availability
- Provide the necessary training for a diverse workforce and have a working knowledge of best practices for training and development
- Hold team accountable to deliverables and work expectations

**Education and Experience**
- 3-5 years of prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility. Paper converting or corrugate converting experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or relevant field (an asset)
- Strong people management skills are a must
- Must be proficient at mentoring and coaching employees for success.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
- Results-oriented and the ability to motivate a team to perform at high levels.
- Experience in troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Ability to make good decisions with an innovative approach.
- Ability to acquire applicable converting/technical/machine knowledge.
- Ability to train and transfer knowledge effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with SAP an asset.

- Meet production standards- Engage and develop all your employees- Ensure compliance with business processes and ONE Certification standards- Ensure quality targets are met- Manage non-standard products- Ensure the accuracy of operation parameters and provide MRP values**Responsible**
- Carry out workforce planning and ensure approval of hours worked- Ensure training coordination (upon hiring and on an ongoing basis)- Ensure constant communication with employees (floor rounds, logbooks, etc.)- Coordinate follow-up meetings to ensure targets are met and employees are held accountable- Carry out monthly OHS audits as well as accident investigations and analyses- Monitor OHS improvements and adjustments- Address target shortfalls (KPIs) and coordinate applicable action plans- Plan and coordinate continuous improvement activities- Support teams in problem solving- Support your scheduler in establishing the optimal sequence for product production within the time frame established on the basis of business rules- Ensure the management of transactions in the computerized operations management system in accordance with business rules- Confirm and resolve anomalies in the computerized operations management system- Experiences and strengths- Extensive experience in supervision and the manufacturing sector- Knowledge of lean manufacturing (an asset)- Leadership and a collaborative spirit that inspire and engage teams to achieve excellence- Ability to solve problems and prioritize daily tasks in a fast-paced environment- Strong listening skills to quickly understand needs and issues- Ability to act and react quickly while working on a number of files at the same time- Leadership to cultivate a culture of OHS accountability- Sound judgment and the courage to make the necessary decisions- Proficiency in written and spoken French and basic knowledge of English- Agility needed to work with various technological tools- Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP (an asset)**Core competencies defined for this job**
