Stuart Olson is searching for a General Foreman, Trades at our client site in Redwater, AB. The General Foreman will be supporting trades such as Scaffolders, Insulators, Laborers and Equipment Operators. This job provides stability and long-term employment. **Responsibilities**

**Leadership**
- Demonstrate the Promise and contribute to it becoming embedded across the organization.
- Promote the best interest of the company.
- Conduct performance plans and assessments with direct reports.
- Maintain high level of morale among direct reports.
- Act as coach and mentor to direct reports.

**General Foreman**
- Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
- Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
- Allocate general and daily responsibilities.
- Supervise and train workers.
- Ensure manpower and resources are adequate.
- Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget.
- Report on progress to the Project Manager and Construction Manager.
- Implement health, safety and environmental procedures on site in accordance with legislation and company policy to ensure safety of all workers and protection of public.
- Effectively manage own workforce assigned for area of responsibility, including equipment, materials and trade contractors to attain targeted profit, specified quality and on-time delivery.
- Achieve project schedule milestones by implement post-it note scheduling sessions, developing accurate 6 week forecasts and identifying weekly deliverables for staff and trade contractors.
- Implement corrective action where necessary to catch up and meet key milestone dates.
- Identify, address and resolve issues and problems as or before they occur.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with client, consultants, suppliers, and trades.
- Maintain the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity when representing Stuart Olson.

**Qualifications**
- Journeyperson Scaffolder or Journeyperson Insulator ticket
- 1-2 years’ experience in a general foreman position
- 3-5 years’ experience in a foreman position
- CSTS-09 and First Aid
- H2S Awareness
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space
- Fire Watch
- Elevated Work Platform
- Pre-access Drug and Alcohol test

**Working Conditions**
- Working at heights
- Working in a confined space
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Must be clean shaven
- Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,

**Physical Requirements**
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
