Legal Assistant

We are seeking a legal assistant with a minimum of two years’ experience to join our practice.
You will work as part of an established team in a fast-paced practice, working in the areas of family law, criminal defence and probate. This role includes preparing correspondence and legal documents, communicating in a professional manner with clients and various outside agencies and offices, preparing closing adjustments, legal accounts, and calendar maintenance, scheduling and organizing and generally providing support to the assigned lawyer.
Your Qualifications:
- At least two (2) years’ experience.
- Preferred experience in the areas of family law, criminal defence and/or probate.
- Preferred completion of paralegal educational program.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions with mínimal supervision and take initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Willingness to learn and contribute to the team.

This position is located at our office in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia. Pay: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
