Bedford, Canada TDR Transportation and Logistics Full time

TDR Transportation & Logistics, a subsidiary of The Municipal Group of Companies is a transportation company providing courier and transport services around Atlantic Canada. We are currently seeking experienced **Owner Operators, **for Open Deck operations, to join our team based out of **Bedford, NS**.

**Job Summary**:
The owner operator will be responsible with moving freight throughout Canada and the US. Our pay structure will consist of two pays monthly. We provide in-house truck and trailer maintenance, fuel cards, and company paid tolls/satellite and decals.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Operate vehicle in safe manner following all company policies and procedures.
- Loading, transporting, and offloading of freight.
- Inspect trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects found.
- Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
- Keep their truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws
- Use technology to map routes, deliver/pickup/track shipments & communicate universally.
- Any other duties as required.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience**:

- 3 years of US driving experience.
- Deck experience. (required)
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Strong written/verbal communication.
- Strong work ethic
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc).
- Clean abstract/criminal record check.
- Valid Class 1 license (required)

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- US driving: 3 years (required)
- step deck operator: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 1 Licence (required)
