**About the role**:Community Reintegration Workers serve as the primary direct support professionals within the program and provide individuals accessing service with 24/7 support and supervision, both within the program and in the broader community. CRWs play a pivotal role in the reintegration process for individuals transition from the justice system and correctional institutions. CRWs work closely on a one-on-one basis with individuals to meet their daily living requirements, promote overall health and well-being, leverage community resources & amenities, and foster the development of essential community living and life skills. This process is guided by the thoughtful implementation of individualized service plans and behavioural support plans tailored to each person’s unique needs, risk factors and goals.

Through their commitment to reintegration, CRWs contribute significantly to breaking down barriers, fostering community connections and empowering individuals to rebuild their lives post-justice involvement. The emphasis on creating a supportive and nurturing environment serves as a foundation for successful reintegration, promoting the development of the skills and supports necessary for each individual to safely thrive in their communities.

**Requirements / Qualifications**

**Education**:
University Degree or College Diploma in a social services program (psychology, criminology, social work, social service worker, community justice worker, developmental service worker). Advanced degrees or certifications are an asset. Relevant experience & skills will also be considered.

**Required Certifications**:

- Current First Aid/CPR/AED (Level C)
- Current or recent Non-Violent Crisis Intervention & Physical Intervention Skills (NVCI, CPI, UMAB, PBAM, TCI, Safe Management, etc.)
- Other certification and trainings may be considered an additional asset.

**Preferred experience**:
Previous experience in a direct support role, supporting individuals with complex needs. A minimum of Two (2) to Three (3) years preferred.

**Language**:

- Bilingual preferred (English/French)
- Other languages will be considered an asset

- Ability to empathize with individuals transitioning from the justice system, demonstrating competence to support a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences.
- Ability to cope with challenging situations and clients where there is potential for confrontation, aggression and/or exposure to violence.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic situation, changing client needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent judgement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and compassionate interaction with individuals, support teams and community partners
- Proficient in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to handle challenging situations, including physical aggression and violence.
