**Your role**
- You will perform tasks associated with gathering footage in the field and contribute creatively to programming by performing editing tasks to produce distinctive and innovative visual effects. You must have an excellent camera and editing skills, be able to work to tight deadlines, actively contribute to content production and be bilingual (English/French).- You will also regularly drive, operate and ensure the proper functioning of our reporting vehicle (transmission truck). During the production of live broadcasts in the field, you will be called upon to coordinate the technical installation and carry out the audio/video switching of the satellite signals.- Work is generally performed according to accepted CBC/Radio-Canada or industry standards, but there is latitude for independent action, judgment and initiative according to established procedures. Duties are performed under the direction of program personnel or a producer. There will also be requirements to work without immediate supervision.- Work is usually performed within established program formats and under high pressure.**Key tasks**:
- Prepare, align and set up field cameras, ensuring optimum visual and technical quality under prevailing conditionsDeliver all recorded materials, including shot-lists-
- In the field, perform simple maintenance of equipment-
- Edit long-form current affairs programs-
- Create and add new visual material-
- Create, edit and mix new audio elements-
- Participate in all stages of planning, production, and packaging of programs-
- Regularly add textures and effects to images, text, and fonts by selecting visual effects existing within the hardware or software-
- Conduct interviews following a list of questions, prepare customs documentation for international travel-
- Perform the tasks of a satellite transmission truck operator-
- Ensure the safe operation of the satellite transmission truck and related equipment-
- Inspect exterior or nearby areas and determine where to install the equipment necessary to cover the program to be transmitted-
- Make all necessary arrangements to obtain permission to install the equipment on or near the outdoor filming site-
- Use up to four cameras to perform non-complex tasks of routing and mixing audio and video signals-
- Propose ideas and present recommendations in order to solve problems or obtain the desired results-
- Drive a motor vehicle daily-
- Perform all or part of the function or duties of an equivalent or lower classification- As someone who supports our programming activities, you are adept at identifying client needs and designing and implementing creative solutions. You take an interest in anticipating future trends and strive to keep us at the forefront of broadcast technology — all to ensure we can deliver our programming to our audiences how, when, and where they want it.-
- Community college degree in television arts, or equivalent industry experience-
- Excellent level of technical knowledge and understanding of daily television program production methods-
- Three (3) years of specialized experience in news and remote broadcasting-
- Good knowledge and a good understanding of the transmission of audio and video signals,-
- Bilingualism (English and French),-
- Valid driver’s license (class 3 Quebec, ‘’D’’ Driver's licence for Ontario) - an asset,-
- Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices,-
- A valid passport and willingness to undertake assignments involving travel internationally and domestically, including high-risk areas such as war or riot zones,-
- Excellent knowledge of the following camera models: Sony PDW-700, Sony A7sii, Sony A7siii, A7Riv, A6600, Sony FS5, Sony F5, Canon 5D, GoPro,-
- Experience with wireless audio equipment, Dejero, LiveU, Teradek,-
- Experience with camera work in a studio or multi-camera live environment,-
- Ability to edit recorded items on appropriate/available editing systems, proficiency with the Avid Media Composer editing system,-
