About the Job

Reporting to the Deputy Treasurer the Accounting Supervisor is responsible for providing quality, timely and accurate Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P) and General Ledger (GL) services to all departments. This position is also responsible for the smooth operation and supervision of the Accounts Payable division which is composed of four team members. This position is responsible to ensure all budget dollars flowing through the accounts payable, and accounts receivable meet Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and related legislative regulations.

**Requirements**:

- Three-year post-secondary diploma in Business Administration or Commerce
- Three years of previous municipal finance experience in a computerized environment
- One year of previous supervisory experience
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
- Ability to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance
- Ability to initiate and model positive change
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
- Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of employees
- Experience with budget preparation and management
- Strong formal and informal leadership skills
