**Expectation**
- The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and assessing the day to day needs of the Maintenance Department to ensure the spa is operating efficiently and to the Scandinave Spa Standard.

**Tasks & Responsibilities**:
**General Operation of the Site**
- Maintain all mechanical equipment and facilities to ensure day to day operations run smoothly and effectively.
- Responsible for overseeing the pool and spa water quality in coordination with the Spa Experience and Housekeeping Manager.
- The go-to person for complex pool and spa water quality issues.
- Ensuring the equipment running the pools and spas are checked and serviced regularly.
- Responsible for supplying (ordering) all equipment, materials and products necessary for the maintenance department.
- Hiring and training of all maintenance staff.
- Support the Spa Experience & Housekeeping Manager where needed.
- Assist with the training of the spa experience staff in conjunction with the Housekeeping & Spa Experience Manager
- Ensure wood quality and supply for the sauna.

**Building and Equipment Maintenance**
- Responsible for the maintenance of all buildings and equipment in accordance with pre-established schedule for preventative maintenance.
- Establish and ensure the completion of all renovations to facilities and building necessary to the Spa with subcontractors when needed.
- Monthly inventory check of all products, materials necessary to the operations department.
- Responsible for maintaining the standards of cleanliness set by the Scandinave Spa Whistler; public areas, site, mechanical rooms, baths & facilities, staff rooms, storage rooms etc.
- Ensure the safety & maintenance of the facilities: ice, wet floors, use of hazardous materials, first aid kits, MSDS sheets, broken or protruding elements of the facility.
- Manage all operations emergency in an efficient and rapid manner.
- Develop a 5-year maintenance plan to ensure the upkeep of all of our building and site facilities.

**Management of Maintenance Department**
- Work in collaboration with controller and accountant to create annual budgets
- Ensure to follow the operations budget created
- Adjust or create a schedule for preventative maintenance for all equipment and facilities
- Responsible for establishing contracts with subcontractors for maintenance of buildings and facilities and managing set contracts (i.e. completed on time).

**Maintenance Team**
- Ensure Standards of quality and cleanliness are adhered to by the maintenance team
- Support the maintenance team
- Develop and update the maintenance procedures
- Ensure maintenance team are completing all tasks and duties
- Be available for team members for questions, extra hands, etc.;
- Performance management for the maintenance team
- Create the maintenance schedule and managing day off/vacation requests

**Prerequisites**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field
- 3 to 5 years experience in a supervisor or management related position
- Experience with plumbing, electrical and or carpentry and all-around handyman.
- Experience in commercial pool operation preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must have great leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to think on their feet, be proactive, problem solve, and deal with change on a daily basis
- Must have a valid BC drivers license
- Must have a clear criminal record check
- Must be available to work full-time and attend functions after work on a semi-regular basis
