This is a 1-year position with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent in the Rights and Title Department.

**The Position**

Under the general supervision of the Implementation & Compliance Manager and the STLM Division Manager, the Records Technician will provide support to the Rights and Title Department in maintaining multiple databases and filing duties. Daily filing of departmental records, intaking new files, and responding to queries to retrieve information will be among the responsibilities in this role, in addition to assisting with record-related projects.
- Review and analyze documents produced by the department daily for appropriate descriptive metadata and file in electronic and physical recordkeeping systems.
- Monitor correspondence and intake new files for assignment to appropriate staff members.
- Perform records search queries for staff and management upon request.
- Provide general records and support to staff and management as needed.
- Assist with ongoing records-related projects, such as correction of historical files, reorganization of physical records, and implementation of new electronic records systems.
- Perform other tasks within the scope of the position as assigned.

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably as a Records Clerk or equivalent.
- Post-secondary training in records management, office administration, information technology, or Indigenous information systems is considered an asset.
- Ability to maintain and work with confidential and sensitive information.
- Highly skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment, i.e. photocopier, scanner, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to implement alphanumeric file numbering and naming conventions with speed and accuracy.
- Familiarity with electronic records management systems (e.g. OpenText, Oracle, SharePoint, etc.) and databases is considered an asset.
- Experience working with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities is considered an asset.
