**Nisku Industrial Coatings / Superior Signs & Decals is looking for a full-time Sign Department Lead Technician to join our team in Nisku, AB.**

**Job Summary**:
Our small business is looking for a capable graphic designer with experience in designing and producing signs and decals. The position entails all aspects of creating signage from customer order, design, manufacture, and shipping. It is a small operation with several large-scale clients. We are on-demand, and it is a fast-paced work environment. This is the primary focus, but we also have other areas of activity that might be of interest as well, such as working with paints and coatings, warehousing, customer service and more.

We are looking for an energetic, capable individual with a willingness to learn and teach, who is patient, creative, and pays attention to detail. The position requires someone who is interested in developing out the sign department to a more fully-functional production system. This necessitates a complete understanding of sign design through production, and an in-depth understanding of the equipment and software, with a variety of roles and responsibilities that allow you to take a customer order from start to finish. The role demands a production focus for the near-term future but provides a starting point to move into a greater management and lead designer position.

**As a Sign Department Lead Technician your role includes**:

- Creating new and templated layouts for customers.
- Other design work, including marketing materials, report templating, document development, logo design, label designs, and more.
- Printing, laminating, cutting, mounting, packing sign products.
- Quality control and proofing.
- Prepare required documents, process payments, and verify completion of orders.
- Maintaining and verifying material inventory levels for orders.
- Sign printing and cutting using Roland printer.
- Laminating and mounting.
- Some installation work.
- Sign costing, inventory management, purchasing, and equipment servicing.
- Development of the existing equipment and floor layout to create efficiencies.
- Research and investigations into new sign materials, software, and production methods.
- Possibly cross-training to fulfilling paint business operational activities.
- Records maintenance where required, such as creative/designs library management, filing, and data entry.
- Other tasks that are assigned.
- Potential for lead generation, customer acquisition, and growing existing sales.

**Required Skills and Qualifications for the Role**
- 2+ years experience creating and producing signs.
- High School Diploma / GED or higher.
- Formal training in graphic or visual arts.
- Proficient in Adobe and/or other graphic design programs.
- Proficient in sign production programs.
- Familiar and comfortable with computers and programs such as Excel and Word and are open and capable of learning new software systems.
- Able to work collaboratively with great interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
