Hopewell Residential currently has an opening for a full-time **Accounting Clerk, Housing **to join the team.

**Reporting**:

- This position** **will report directly to the** Senior Accountant, Housing.**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash transactions;
- Prepare recurring journal entries and maintain accounting records;
- Prepare, post and collect accounts receivable invoices;
- Prepare month-end general ledger account reconciliations;
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions;
- Prepare and file monthly GST returns;
- Prepare and process employee expense reports;
- Prepare daily bank deposits;
- Assist with the preparation of annual tax returns and tax compliance;
- Filing and maintenance of financial records;
- Participate as a team member within Hopewell department team meetings and events;
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be added or modified as required.

**Requirements**:

- Hold a degree or diploma in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent discipline;
- Previous experience working with Constellation/NewStar is considered an asset;
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy;
- Excellent internal and external client relations skills;
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, optimistic, professional;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong problem solving capabilities;
- Enthusiastic, professional, and team focused individual; and
- Ability to take initiative, organize and meet time sensitive deadlines.

**Working Conditions**:
Traditional core office hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position may require periodic work outside of normal office hours.
