**Position**:Windsurfing/Winging Programs & Equipment Supervisor

**Location**:Windsure Adventure Watersports at Jericho Beach, Vancouver BC

**Duration**:May 1 2023 - September 5/30, 2023 (seasonal) + training dates in mid-late April

**Hours**: Full Time, 40 hours per week: Wednesday - Sunday, 9am-5pm

**Compensation**: $3250/month

Established in 1977, Windsure is a family-run watersports business, located at beautiful Jericho Beach in West Point Grey, Vancouver. Today, we work to share our love of three quintessential Vancouver watersports: Windsurfing, Stand-Up Paddleboarding, and Skimboarding.

**What you’ll do**:
Some examples of the daily tasks of a Windsurfing/Winging Programs & Equipment Supervisor would include:

- Teach windsurfing/winging lessons including: preparation of equipment, basic wind geometry, dryland simulator, wetsuit & life jacket fitting, learning debrief, continued learning options
- Update and implement Discover Windsurfing I & II, Discover Wing, Discover Wingfoiling, summer camp, and special workshops class lesson plans/curriculum, tailor private lessons according to guest interest
- Revise safety components of the lesson including: self rescue demo, boundaries and other hazards such as tide, current, and weather predictions
- Teach and mentor other instructors, service staff on windsurfing skills and knowledge
- Review and implementation of windsurfing and winging curriculum for all levels of windsurfing and winging instruction.
- Exceptional knowledge of all windsurfing and winging equipment and parts from all major brands.
- Take regular inventory and ensure proper organization of windsurfing/winging equipment and parts
- Maintain and carry out equipment repairs as needed, advise on product ordering
- Lead the sale of used windsurfing equipment
- Organize and coordinate our windsurfing programs: Discover Windsurfing, Discover Wing/Foil, Windsurfing Summer Camp Programs, Season’s Pass Members Social Sails, Windsurfing Clinics
- Developing new programs for 2023 and beyond

**You’re a good fit if you**:

- Love being outside and active, especially on the water
- Are proficient in one or more of our watersports (the more, the better)
- Know how to create memorable customer and learning experience
- Have an understanding and/or curiosity of race, gender, BIPOC, LGBTQ2SIA+ and climate justice issues and are committed to creating safe community spaces

**What we’re looking for**:

- Knowledge and appreciation of windsurfing/winging, including equipment maintenance, repair and rigging
- Windsurfing teaching experience
- Able to lift and carry minimum 50 lbs
- Fluent spoken English
- Pleasure Craft Operating Card (PCOC) or willingness to get it
- Valid First Aid Training
- Valid Criminal Record Check or willingness to get one
- Able to work in Canada
- Shortboard, racing, high wind, freestyle and foiling (teaching) experience are bonuses
