**Job purpose**

Move product in the most efficient, cost effective, and safe manner to service the customers building needs. Give customers accurate delivery information and update customer when changes occur. This person will have to work well as a team member and have excellent communication skills.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Prioritizes orders for yard staff to build in sequence with deliveries.
- Dispatch drivers and any information needed for the driver to complete delivery.
- Updates customers on shipment status of Call / Pick up pick tickets.
- Phones customers regarding delivery status before delivery gets loaded on truck.
- Enforce policies and procedures consistent with management requirements and safety standards.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and inventory counts.
- Communicate staff or safety issues to Yard Lead.
- Check all orders and PO's / Work orders when printed for possible mistakes or issues that need to be forwarded to Yard Staff or Yard Lead.
- Maintain full coverage of phone & service windows.
- Monitors inbound trucks and let delivery trucks in yard according to inbound policy.

**Qualifications**
- Logistics background dispatching trucks.
- Basic knowledge of excel.
- Lumber yard experience building orders and loading / unloading trucks.

**Accountabilities**

Â- Must be a team player working cohesively between sales, admin, yard staff, drivers, and customers to meet Griff goals.

Â- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Â- This person will need to be comfortable with multi-tasking and communicating clearly across all departments.
