The Ministry of Emergency Management & Climate Readiness (EMCR) leads provincial emergency and disaster risk management, builds and fosters collaborative relationships and partnerships, advances meaningful and lasting reconciliation, and supports all peoples in British Columbia to reduce disaster risk. The Recovery Funding Branch leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of the province’s Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) program as well as developing other funding options for communities and private citizens.

The Adjudication Analyst reviews the facts of unclear cases or special circumstances referred by more junior staff, gather and verify missing or contradictory information through probing interviews, and preparing detailed reports justifying approval or denial within the parameters of legislation and regulations governing the program.

**Job Requirements**:

- Diploma in business administration, public administration, commerce, economics, law, emergency management or a related discipline and one (1) year of related experience*; OR
- Certificate in business administration, public administration, commerce, economics, law, emergency management or a related discipline and two (2) years of related experience*; OR Other relevant combination of education and/or experience* may be considered.- Related experience must include some experience in each of the following:

- Experience providing advice and guidance to the public and other partners on program administration.
- Experience developing and implementing operational materials (e.g., policy, procedure, practices).
- Experience working with and engaging with First Nations communities and/or organizations.
- Experience working with Emergency Recovery programs.
- Experience working with private sector entities (e.g., Homeowners, Tenants, Small Businesses, Farms, Charity Organizations) or governments to assess eligibility and process payments relating to disaster recovery.
- Be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments, and corporate structures.
- Work on-call and work extended hours during emergency activations.
- Travel occasionally.

**About this Position**:
There are three (3) positions available.
Flexible work options may not be available during emergency operations response periods.
This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Emergency Management & Climate Readiness offices: Saanichton, Victoria, Kamloops, Nelson, Prince George, Surrey, or Smithers.
This is a temporary opportunity until December 31, 2025. This temporary opportunity may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
