**The Position**:
We currently have an opening for an organized, detail orientated, and safety focused individual to join our Research & Innovation team in Dartmouth as a Lab Manager. This role is responsible for the management and maintenance of lab operations, responsible for purchasing, keeping lab supplies and inventory up to date, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Lab Manager will also be responsible for ensuring all lab members have received training and are adhering to lab safety standards.

**Responsibilities**:
The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Inventory management of all laboratory supplies.
- Managing shipping and receiving requirements for the labs, external labs, other research institutes, etc.
- Facilitating maintenance needs for the labs with department leaders and/or engineering.
- Managing good lab practices (GLPs) (i.e., SOPs, quality assurance standards, document control of lab related projects etc.).
- Oversee the general workflow of the day-to-day activities in all labs to ensure they run smoothly.
- Act as co-chair on the safety committee and ensure that the laboratory meets all applicable safety regulations.
- Provide proper training and education on lab safety related items.
- Managing lab books’ records.
- Managing lab capital expenditures and lab related budget.
- May be required to work evenings and/or weekends to maintain lab operations.
- Maintain a clean and tidy laboratory environment.
- Other related duties as required.

**Required Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum post-secondary education in a science related discipline (chemistry, biology, etc.).
- At least 3 years’ experience managing a lab.
- Minimum one year experience in GLP environment.
- High level of service orientation, with the ability to collaborate and interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in writing SOPs, procedures, work instructions, etc.
- Good knowledge of the following processes: document control, preventive maintenance, calibration & verification of equipment.
- Familiar with quality processes (i.e., supplier qualification, customer complaints, and internal audits).
- A safety-focused mindset that prioritizes safety in all aspects of work, from individual tasks to overall organizational goals.
- Skilled in planning, executing, and improving work processes to achieve business goals.
- Ability to promote collaboration and foster a sense of teamwork and cooperation among individuals and groups.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organization skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and self-manage.
- Ability to engage, inspire, and motivate others towards actions and commitments.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, OneNote, SharePoint, and Teams collaboration tools.

**Desired skills and experience**:

- Experience with ISO 17025 is preferred.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
