**Dominion Equipment & Chemical**is a long-established Brantford, Ontario distributor of cleaning chemicals, equipment and supplies. Our parent company, Domclean Limited, is a provider of janitorial services to a wide variety of customers and buildings throughout southwestern Ontario. Our combined customers include schools, universities, hospitals, commercial office buildings, manufacturing facilities, retail shopping centers and other contract cleaning companies to list a few. **We are expanding our Service Department and require another experienced field Service Technician to join our growing team.**

As a field **Service Technician,**you will provide service excellence to our customers. Working at customer sites and in-shop you will be responsible to maintain, troubleshoot and repair cleaning equipment while providing top-notch customer service, guidance and communication to our customers. Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge needed.

This is a full-time, Brantford based position. Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, 40 hours per week with the occasional opportunity for overtime. Wage rate range is $26 per hour at the low end (repair skills but no industry experience) to $30 per hour (fully skilled Service Technician) depending on qualifications and experience. _**Note: We are open to discuss/negotiate wages for a fully skilled Technician with proven experience in the industry**_._

Current top rate applies to a Service Technician who can be up and running and ready to attend customer sites in a short period of time because you are familiar with floor cleaning equipment, have successfully repaired scrubbers and other cleaning equipment in your previous positions and possess the skills we require.

Uniforms, electronic devices (cell phone, laptop) provided. Group health & dental benefits, life insurance. Good driving record required to operate corporate service vehicle. Comfortable with field service travel performing several calls daily. Own basic tools needed; we provide corporate tools.

**Responsibilities**:

- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on a range of Nobles, Tennant, Karcher and other brand-name cleaning equipment. Includes walk-behind and ride-on floor scrubbers / sweepers, carpet extractors, floor machines, burnishers and all manner of cleaning equipment
- Communicate and schedule service calls with customers and manage service orders for timely response
- Complete scheduled service, planned maintenance and emergency breakdown calls using company provided service vehicle (clear driving record required)
- Identify parts required for repairs; requisition to order as necessary to ensure prompt follow-up
- Electronically maintain records of all activities including but not limited to work orders, service calls, estimates, service agreements and communications with customers and internal staff
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment at all times including at customer sites, in service vehicles and in-shop workstation paying mindful attention to all safety precautions required and in place

**Qualifications**:

- Technical and mechanical aptitude. Experience with electric motors required. Strong understanding of the principles of mechanics
- 2 to 4 years field Service Technician experience in this industry or with **similar work**
- Experience with automotive, lift truck, batteries or HVAC an asset
- Ability to understand and diagnose electrical systems (most important), read schematics and troubleshoot 12v, 24v, 36v and 120v systems
- Ability to read and comprehend service manuals, technical drawings and update/installation information
- Excellent customer service / people skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to perform heavy lifting (batteries for example) as needed
- Can provide a clear Drivers Abstract and criminal record check
- Dependable person with excellent attendance history

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $54,000.00-$62,400.00 per year
