**What is the role?**

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the self-propelled motor grader, precisely spreading and mixing materials in order to pre-finish grade before paving. Other responsibilities also include:

- Operates heavy equipment (Grader) in a safe manner and in accordance with Carmacks Equipment maintenance practices.
- Operates the Grader on public roadways, safely and efficiently, with continuous awareness of surroundings.
- Cleans and lubricates equipment and refills equipment tanks, performs routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the grader.
- Conducts pre-operational checks on equipment,
- Secures special attachments to equipment
- Operates grader controls to regulate height and angle of the grader blade.
- Performs daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Ensures a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
- Drives grader in successive passes over working area, observing reference stakes or hand signals of other workers, to level the surface to the specified grade.
- Ability to determine the depth of the cut.
- Ensures grader is in proper gear and is not moving too fast for working conditions.
- Demonstrates an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings.
- Attends daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
- Completes daily safety documentation.

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Nisku, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
