In Connect Health’s flagship offering, patients subscribe to annual Longevity Programs led by MDs with the support of Nurses, Naturopathic doctors, Health Coaches, and Holistic Nutritionists. With an emphasis on addressing root issues and lifestyle changes, patients are supported through comprehensive testing and assessments, and then the implementation of their Personal Health and Longevity Plans.

We are looking for a Phlebotomist/Medical Lab Assistant based out of Vancouver, BC who values the professional satisfaction of delivering thoughtful, compassionate care to the highest standards. Reporting to the Directors, the Medical Lab Assistant practices to the full scope of the standards of practice as established by the national registration body, Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and works in close collaboration with the interprofessional clinical team to manage the delivery of clinical services. The Medical Lab Assistant is an advocate and a navigator, delivering thoughtful and compassionate care of the highest standard.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collecting client specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples, using appropriate collection methods and equipment.
- Performing a variety of tests and diagnostics including phlebotomy, urine, measurements, and cognitive testing and more.
- Oversee inventory control of medical supplies, assess stock levels, expiration dates, and ensure overall supply organization.
- Operate autoclaving equipment to sterilize medical instruments and equipment, following established protocols.
- Preparing and processing specimens for laboratory analysis, such as centrifugation, separating serum or plasma from blood, and labeling specimens with the correct client information.
- Keeping accurate records of client information, test results, and other laboratory data to ensure the integrity of laboratory results and maintain client confidentiality.
- Following strict safety protocols and adhere to laboratory policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Communicating with healthcare professionals such as physicians, and nurses, or other personnel to ensure that laboratory results are accurate and meet the needs of the client.
- Use appropriate clinical protocols/pathways as developed and approved by Connect Health.
- Coordinate with patients, practitioners, client services and vendors.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director in the management of a portfolio of private tests and intravenous, intramuscular and intradermal treatments as recommended by MD’s and ND’s.
- Assist the Medical Director in ensuring that the clinic is meeting all regulatory compliance in regard to infection control, emergency preparedness, personal protective equipment, and medical equipment/supplies.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.

**What you bring**:

- Completion of the Medical Laboratory Assistant program
- Completion of the CSMLS exam
- Active registration with the CSMLS
- At least one year of clinical experience

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Additional skills or certifications such as ability to manage IVs, health coaching and holistic nutrition certifications are BONUS.
- Outgoing and personable with a passion for health and wellness.
- Detailed-oriented and committed to unparalleled patient service.
- Interest in Functional and Integrative health, wellness and complementary medicine.
- Experience with private functional medicine testing.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
- Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices.
- Experience in assisting with family medicine practice procedures and assessments.
