- In this role, you will:_
- Assist in the review and development of new safety procedures and programs, including training, processes, and procedures.
- Provide guidance to Babcock’s health and safety committees, and other Babcock Canada personnel.
- Liaise between internal clients on safety related issues. Interpret regulations and provide guidance on requirements
- Foster a strong health and safety culture are all levels of Babcock Canada.
- Assist in conducting accident investigations and provide reporting of health, safety, and environment incidents to HSE Manager.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new safety programs.
- Assist in writing safety & environmental proposals / improvement plans and monitoring progress towards goals.
- Assist in updating Key Performance Metrics and regular governance reports.
- Regularly update safety data within reporting platforms such as _ISNetworld._
- Coordinate HSE training activities and ensuring accurate records are updated and retained.
- Coordinate risk assessments and complete periodic audits as per standard procedure.
- Monitor the effective implementation of the Safety and Environmental Management System procedures.
- Assist with safety due diligence audits on Sub-contractors as per Contractor Safety program.
- Assist in development of Safety Alerts and Safety Toolbox Talks / Safety Moments.
- Provide safety-related input into new projects and modification programs.
- Review and provide input on Health and Safety documentation for new tenders.
- Provide Safety support and advice, including preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities.
- Provide recommendations on improvements to all OHS Management Systems, assist in audits and continuous improvements.
- Provide recommendations on operations emergency response plans and ensure adherence to all federal and provincial regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- You have a minimum 5 years’ experience in the Health, Safety and Environmental field.
- You hold a post-secondary education in Health, Safety and Environment.
- You have demonstrated knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and local health and safety, and environmental regulations.
- You have direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and/or compliance officers.
- CRSP designation would be considered an asset.
