Junior Planner

**REPORTS TO**:Supervisor of Development Planning

**LOCATION**:Initial Placement - Paris Customer Service Office

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary diploma in Urban Design, Urban and Regional Planning or related field
- Two years relevant work experience, in a planning, building and/or engineering related setting.
- Working knowledge of zoning by-laws, municipal planning processes, planning principles and applicable legislation (including Planning Act, Provincial Policy and Guideline)
- Demonstrated tact and diplomacy skills and the ability to exercise discretion and judgment when handling confidential information
- Advanced time management and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, including verbal and written
- Demonstrated safe work practices
- Valid G driver’s license and the ability to travel for site visits and between County offices and facilities as required

**Assets**:

- Experience working within a Planning Division in a municipal setting
- Experience utilizing City View software or similar electronic planning/ building permit processing software

**Duties**:

- Provides general feedback to planning and development inquiries including designations and zoning provisions
- Assists with property inquiries and Zoning Compliance Forms/Letters
- Other duties as assigned

**Annual Salary Range**: $66,721 - $78,078 **(Grade 5 - Under Review) **35 hours per week
