Extrusion Assistant

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our Extrusion Department team in the role of Assistant. The Extrusion Assistant (Apprentice) role is the foundation for building a career as an Extrusion Foreman.
**Job Duties**:

- Wrapping and moving skids of product
- Removing rolls of product from machines
- Housekeeping duties
- Quality checks
- Reporting of any inefficiencies or safety issues
- Supports the Foreman with the setup and operation of the Extruders

**Schedule**:

- 12 hour rotating shift schedule including overnight and weekend (example on website). _There are limited positions available on permanent night shift, however the days on/off are not flexible as you would be scheduled with a set crew monthly. _
- Scheduled for 84 hours bi-weekly and rotate together with the same crew
- Some overtime available depending on production demands

**Requirements**:

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic Computer Skills
- Ability to read basic measuring instruments and carry out basic arithmetic operations
- Comparable experience preferred but not required (General labour, construction, etc.)

**Manufacturing Plant Working Conditions**:

- Required to stand for long periods of time and climb multiple sets of stairs regularly
- Changing environmental conditions (very hot in summer/cold in winter).
- Frequent heavy lifting

**Compensation**:

- $17.69/hour starting rate, incrementally increasing to $18.97/hour when fully trained (1 year)
